Small Groups
We can build community in our corporate worship, but participation in a small group helps build strong bonds, and are safe places for all your faith questions. Please know many of these groups take a break in the summer, and we host our storytelling series on summer Sundays at 9 a.m. in our chapel.

Church School Classes
Church school classes are a great place to build community weekly and study faith based topics.
Most church school classes meet on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m..
Caritas -room 146
Caritas, in Latin, means "love of many people." This group holds on to the practices of caring for each other, holding one another in prayer, and learning together, whether celebrating or struggling, this group shows up for each other. We have book discussions, study books of the Bible, and have done a series on world religions. All are welcome!
Explorers - room 136
We use "Journeys” (an American Baptist publication) to explore passages from the Old and New Testaments. Our emphasis is to learn what a particular passage meant to the original readers and how it means to us now. With an emphasis on open class discussion, we explore any given passage's historical, socio-economic, and cultural background and try to apply its message to our modern lives.
Nuer - room 300
This class is for Calvary’s congregants from South Sudan. Discussion is based on study of the Bible and fact finding. We study selected Bible books/chapters from the New Testaments.
Koinonia - room 119
Koinonia, in Greek, has many meanings: community, communion, joint participation, sharing, and intimacy. We are a group of 20-25 people who enjoy studying and discussing together. This fall we are: studying What They Don’t Tell You by Michael Joseph Brown; exploring an 8 week series on Heaven; taking an in-depth look at the Lord’s Prayer; and five Sundays throughout the year we will look at a contemporary social issue through a Biblical standpoint. We have interesting discussions and enjoy fellowship together. We have strong bonds of love and care for each other. We welcome visitors and new members anytime.
Ribbons - room 134
We love growing our faith through thoughtful, open discussions of books. We are a connecting and supportive group as we share our journeys with one another. We meet first and third Sundays after church with brown bag lunches in Ribbons Classroom for book discussion. Some members join us via Zoom for this time together. On the second Saturdays of the month we meet via Zoom calls at 2 pm Mountain Time for connecting with current and previous Ribbons members informally.
Voyagers - room 138
Voyagers is an age-independent class of 8-10 people each Sunday that studies a faith based book, a biblical text, or a historic figure of the bible. Topics are chosen by the group. All are welcome.
Please know many of these classes take a break in the summer.
